Each week our flowers are donated to Flowers for Friends to be distributed throughout the community. It is important for the office to have this information. ELDERBERRIES: The next Elderberry Meeting will be on Friday, October 12 th at 12:30PM at the City Park Grill. CHOIR & CHIMES NEWS: The choir and chimes will practice on October 3 rd ; choir at 7-8PM and chimes from 6-7PM. New members are always welcome. PAPER PANTRY: Last week we had 85 people come to paper pantry. Please remember the paper pantry operates on donations of items or money. Without your gifts we could not continue this project. The people are so thankful for what they receive. We could always use help setting up or handing out items. It is very rewarding to see how happy we make people. Our next distribution is Thursday, September 27, 9-10:30 AM, set-up is Wednesday, at 3:30 PM. If you are able to help give Bev Engel a call at 248-672-9449. PAPER PANTRY DONATIONS: If any of you do not use the products given to you following a dental appointment please bring them in for the Paper Pantry distribution. Remember that this outreach program works on donations only. SOUP KITCHEN NEWS: October is only one day away. Think about what you can do to help. The soup kitchen has four Thursdays that we need to prepare and serve food . If you can help with food or serve be sure to sign up in the green volunteer notebook by the church office. If you have questions call Sue Finley at 231-439- 9101. ELEMENTARY YOUTH PUMPKIN CARVING SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14: Pumpkins and pizza and drinks will be provided. Families please bring veggies and desserts, like cupcakes to decorate. This will be a fun day so be sure to save the date and join in the fun. POTLUCK AND PHOTO SESSION: October 21, 2018 from 11AM-3PM join us for a soup potluck and mini photo session. The Mini photo sessions will be with photographer Hilary Harrington for $25 for all members and $35 for non-members (a major bargain) – setting will be a fall theme. Each mini session will take 10-15 minutes at the most, depending on the number of people per photo. If you need more than one photo shoot, please reserve two spaces and you will be charged for two sessions. (Example, you need 3-5 pictures of just kids, this is one session and another session would be 3-5 of your family.) Each session will include 3-5 photos delivered digitally to you to print. With your consent, the photos will be used for a church directory/bulletin board. If you are interested, please sign up and you’ll be assigned a time for your mini-photo session. Please bring a $25 or $35 check the day of the session made out to Hilary Harrington or cash. We will also be collecting items for the paper pantry, feel free to bring an item to donate on this day. SUNDAY SCHOOL: If your child is between the ages of 4 years old up to 10 years of age they are Sunday School age. The theme this year is Putting on the Whole Armor of God. NORTHERN MICHIGAN CHORALE on November the 17 th & 18 th , 2018 will be presenting their holiday concerts “The Gift of Song” at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts.
