NURSERY VOLUNTEERS We would love to have nursery volunteers during the worship service.
The nursery can be held upstairs if you would like. Please sign up in the volunteer folder for nursery
volunteer for any Sunday that you would like to help! Thank you.
GIFTS TO BE GIVEN!!! When people ask you where you give donations...tell them Cross of Christ.
We welcome all financial donations so give in honor of someone or in memory of beloved.
STEWARDSHIP OF THE CHURCH:
Due to high winds and wet window frames, one of our windows blew out of the frame. We are raising
funds at this time to replace our windows...even just one at a time. If you would like to give towards
our window campaign or if you know someone looking for a place to donate funds, offer to do so at
Cross of Christ! Remember to make a note in the memo of your check or on your offering envelope.
Thank you for praying about your donations to Cross of Christ. We are so very grateful! As we
continue to move forward in ministry and mission you will be invited to a cottage meeting/small group

meeting. We really are looking forward to hear from you all! We are so very blessed.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH are planning a mission trip this summer. We will need more
adults to attend with us if possible. We will need help with transportation and organization. You do
not have to have a child attend youth group to go! Just let Pastor Sherry know as soon as possible.
The trip will happen in August.
SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GATHERING IN KALAMAZOO February 7-9, 2020. We ask for prayers for
Wesley Meckstroth, Chase Bellanger, Mr. Dan and Pastor Sherry as they prepare to go to the
Gathering in Kalamazoo this year. Your donations and support of our youth not only sends our
children but opens the door for children in our area. Thank you!!!
MARK THE CALENDAR: When using the church building for meetings etc. please mark the
day and time on the calendar, on the bulletin board by the women’s bathroom, so a reminder
can be put in the announcements. It is important for the office to have this information.
BIBLE STUDIES: 8:15AM #Metoo Bible study will meet at the church on Mondays at 8:15AM! We
are studying “The Prayer-Filled Life (The Contemplative Tradition)” in Devotional Classics edited by
Richard J. Foster and James Bryan Smith. If you would like a book, please see Pastor Sherry
McGuffin-Bays or let her know and she will place it in your box.
TUESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY will meet at 5:30PM on Tuesday evenings at Cindy Bergstrom and
Patty Schmoldt’s home. Please contact Cindy Bergstrom if you plan to attend...this is a great group
discussion and light meal. We are reading chapters 25-27 of the Purpose Driven Life by Rick
Warren. Cindy’s phone number is 231-838-9675.
SHARING HOPE: Support group for anyone who has a loved one with suicidal tendencies. Second
Thursday of every month, Genesis Community Center, 1124 Northmen Drive, 6:00PM – 7:30PM,
contact Wendy Kuebler 231-881-7248.
INFORMATION SHEET ON GIVING OFFERINGS is located in your mailbox. If you cannot find your
mailbox or do not have a mailbox, please let Pastor Sherry McGuffin know and we will get you one
right away! Memorial Funds are also a way of sharing your gifts. Memorials at Cross of Christ are not
designated except by the council. So if you have an idea or would like to suggest to a council
member what we may need, they will always listen and bring it to council.
COTTAGE MEETINGS TO BEGIN BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF FEBRUARY Everyone in
the congregation will be invited to a meeting where the council member hosting will ask some very
important questions about our church and congregation...we need, really need, your input. There will
be different meetings at different places and each of you has been assigned to a person! You will be
hearing from them very soon. Please try and attend because we need your input and it will be a good
time to meet people face to face and learn names if you don’t know them! Children are also invited
and the meetings shouldn’t take longer than one hour.
CHURCH RAFFLE FOR THE GENERAL FUND will begin as soon as we receive our license from
the state. We have a painting by Thomas Kincaide, a beautiful quilt by Karen Hamal, an afghan by
Sheri Popp and a cash prize of $250. Each family unit will receive 10 tickets to sell for $10 each!
This should be a fun time and the drawing will happen right after Easter.
