ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at 7PM.

DEDICATION OF FLOWERS AND BULLETINS If you would like to have the flowers on the table
dedicated or in honor of someone please see the sign up notebook on the sign up table in front of the
office. Dedications for flowers and bulletins are listed in the notebook and are $10. Please write in
the memo of your check what you are offering either bulletins or flowers. Thank you in advance for
your kind donations and memorials.

MARK THE CALENDAR:  When using the church building for meetings etc. please mark the
day and time on the calendar, on the bulletin board by the women’s bathroom, so a reminder
can be put in the announcements. It is important for the office to have this information.

MONTH OF WORLD HUNGER COLLECTIONS AND NOISY OFFERING!  This year we have a piggy
bank for each home for the month of February. Sit them on your eating table and every time you
gather for a meal or a snack put in some change or money. Bring them on Sunday, February 23rd
when we collect them and bless them to be sent to Lutheran World Hunger. Ash Wednesday falls on
February 26th this year and you will also receive a 40 day devotional in your box. This will help us
focus through our Lenten journey.

THE DANIEL PLAN   Dean Tahtinen will begin a class on the book and study called The Daniel Plan
and it looks at our wellness in different areas of our life. He will meet after church for one hour for 5-6
weeks. Please look at the fliers in your box and on the bulletin board for more information. There is a
sign up sheet so that he can order the books…so please sign up in the pink notebook at the sign up
center.

YOUTH SALE! VALENTINE CANDY BOUQUETS!!! Thank you to all who ordered. We raised $900
for our mission trip. Thank you to Heather Engel, Kasi Meckstroth and Sheri Popp for the
organization, fundraising, fund securing and super support of our youth!

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS We would love to have nursery volunteers during the worship service.
The nursery can be held upstairs if you would like. Please sign up in the volunteer folder for nursery
volunteer for any Sunday that you would like to help! Thank you.

COTTAGE MEETING TIMES These meetings for the congregation and for friends of our
congregation will meet in small groups around our area. The purpose is to talk about the forward
motion of Cross of Christ. Each meeting is being led by a leader in our church. There will be a few
questions for you to discuss and then share ideas for the building up of our ministry. If you can’t
make your cottage meeting time, please try to attend another meeting. Here are the locations:

Kasi Meckstroth, leader: February 11at 6:30 at their home.
Bryan Young, leader: Feb. 13 at 7:45 at Southwoods.
Gordy Engdahl leader: Feb. 16 at 10:30AM after church at the church.
Jean Smith, leader: Feb. 16 at 2:30pm at Svetlana and Ron Ottney’s home.
Melissa Hansen, leader: Feb. 18 at Riverview Terrace at 6:15 where a light meal will be served.

The list of where each member is invited is on the list on the door and you should have heard from
your group leader. If you have not, please RSVP to them or call the church office and we will tell you
your group!

ALL YOUTH CAMP SIGN UP FOR STONY LAKE!!!! Registration for camp begins now through the
end of February and we can save $35 per child. If you register March 1st on, then it cost $35 more.
Children and students grades 1st-12th can attend. We are planning for week 1 June 14-19th. Please
see Pastor Sherry or Kasi Meckstroth to get signed up ASAP. Remember we have financial aid for all
who participate.

GIFTS TO BE GIVEN!!! When people ask you where you give donations…tell them Cross of Christ.
We welcome all financial donations so give in honor of someone or in memory of beloved.

STEWARDSHIP OF THE CHURCH:
Due to high winds and wet window frames, one of our windows blew out of the frame. We are raising
funds at this time to replace our windows…even just one at a time. If you would like to give towards
our window campaign or if you know someone looking for a place to donate funds, offer to do so at
Cross of Christ! Remember to make a note in the memo of your check or on your offering envelope.
Thank you for praying about your donations to Cross of Christ. We are so very grateful! As we
continue to move forward in ministry and mission you will be invited to a cottage meeting/small group
meeting. We really are looking forward to hear from you all! We are so very blessed.

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH are planning a mission trip this summer. We will need more
adults to attend with us if possible. We will need help with transportation and organization. You do
not have to have a child attend youth group to go! Just let Pastor Sherry know as soon as possible.
The trip will happen in August.

BIBLE STUDIES: 8:15AM #Metoo Bible study will meet at the church on Mondays at 8:15AM! We
are studying “The Prayer-Filled Life (The Contemplative Tradition)” in Devotional Classics edited by
Richard J. Foster and James Bryan Smith. If you would like a book, please see Pastor Sherry
McGuffin-Bays or let her know and she will place it in your box.

TUESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY will meet at 5:30PM on Tuesday, February 11th. We meet evenings
at Cindy Bergstrom and Patty Schmoldt’s home. Please contact Cindy Bergstrom if you plan to
