NURSERY DUTIES
1. THANK YOU for volunteering to help.
2. Please arrive at church at least 15 minutes before second service. Many of the nursery children have attended Sunday School so are there early and need a place to play without disrupting other members of our church arriving to worship upstairs.
3. Nursery is for children 0-5 years of age. If you have an older child, they can serve as your helper on days you are the nursery volunteer.
4. Once all children arrive, please keep the downstairs door closed. This keeps the kids and the sounds from traveling upstairs.
5. Try not to call a parent from the service unless absolutely necessary. Most children calm down after a short while. Try distracting them with a toy or game. Also, sitting quietly with the child or reading them a story may help.
6. Do not allow a child to go upstairs alone to join their parents. There would be no way to know if they made it or not.
7. We have the top shelf of the cabinets above the stove downstairs for snacks for the nursery. The children, especially those who were at Sunday School, seem to be very hungry during nursery time. Please give receipts to Pastor Sherry for reimbursement.
8. The church toys are all inside the close-able shelves. Please, open it up when you first arrive and be sure all toys go back inside, then close it after nursery.
9. Please set any soiled or broken toys aside and let our nursery attendant know so that they can be cleaned, repaired or thrown away.
10. Keep smiling and have fun with some of God’s greatest gifts.
